Here are some lines that filled my mind as I wrote my sermon, beginning our Advent series on the roles of Christ. Here is the sermon, if you’re interested; “Christ, Our Voice From God.”
THE PROPHET
Emerging into emptiness
A child that feels no touch
Sees no face and hears no lullaby
Filled only with the void in my untouched soul
Waiting for nothing, no one
Watching with a hopeless stare into night
Listening for a voice that whispers or screams
Alone and still unaware of loneliness
He came, He comes in the silence
God thinks, He hears, He speaks
I hear, I feel, I see
The Prophet, my Prophet, Jesus
Who is your prophet? Who is the One who speaks for God in your life?
